There are many different ways to cook potatoes. This is why you won't be bored when it comes to choosing potato recipes. You can choose from mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, or boiled potatoes.

Baked Potatoes

Baked potatoes can be used in many ways. You can top them with cheese, chili, cheese, salsa, bacon, cheddar, or bacon. To enjoy this all-American starchy vegetable, you can simply add butter and salt. To bake, poke the potatoes with a fork. Then, apply olive oil or butter to the skin, sprinkle salt on top, and place them on a baking sheet. Bake at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 65 minutes.

Roasted Potatoes

For roasted potatoes, Yukon gold or red skin potatoes are good choices.

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • A quarter of a pound of potatoes is needed for the final stage of preparation.
  • Put them in a roasting pan.
  • Salt and pepper to your liking
  • Place potatoes in one layer in the baking pan.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, stirring or flipping occasionally.

You can add herbs to the potatoes or other flavorful ingredients to make a delicious side dish for any meal.

Microwaved Potatoes

Microwaving potatoes can be more convenient than baking, especially if you are short on time. Simply:

  • To prepare potatoes for cooking, wash and scrub them.
  • Use a fork to poke each potato multiple times.
  • Apply a little olive oil to the potato skins.
  • Place potato on a microwave-safe plate.
  • Each potato should be cooked on high power for between 5 and 6 minutes per side (or 10 to 12 minutes in total).
  • You should ensure that your potato is soft.
  • Slice the potato in half lengthwise and add your favorite toppings.

You can use almost any traditional potato topping to make a microwaveable potato. Microwaving is a faster way to get the final result.

Boiled Potatoes

Boiling potatoes makes it easy to cook smaller potatoes whole or make potato salads or mash potatoes. Boiling potatoes can be done quickly and is very easy. Simply:

  • To boil potatoes, scrub and rinse them.
  • You can use small potatoes whole or smaller potatoes cut into smaller cubes (peel, if necessary).
  • Place potatoes in a large pot. Add enough water to cover the potatoes.
  • Saltwater with about 1 teaspoon
  • Bring water to boil over high heat.
  • Reduce heat to medium or low.
  • Cover the pot with a lid. Water should be at a gentle boil.
  • Allow potatoes to simmer (gently boil) for approximately 15-25 minutes or until they are soft.
  • Let the potatoes drain in a colander. Once they are cool, season them with any seasonings you like.

To mash potatoes after boiling, heat 2 tablespoons butter and 1 cup milk on low heat. Blend the milk mixture with the potatoes to achieve the desired consistency. To make potato salad, you simply need to wash and boil the potatoes. Once they are softened, let them cool down, and then follow your favorite potato salad recipe.

Fried Potatoes

Fry potatoes by simply washing and cutting the potatoes into strips or wedges (or both, depending on your preference). You will also need oil, shortening, or lard to fry the potatoes (depending on how you prefer to fry them), and any seasonings you like. A shallow frying pan is used for shallow frying. For deep frying, a large pot or deep fryer is used. For about 5-6 minutes, fry potatoes in oil, shortening, or lard. After that, drain the potatoes on paper towels and season with salt.
